A painting aglow with the late winter sun over Charmouth and Black Venn. Over Christmas I walked along Charmouth beach towards Golden Cap — a landmark that always draws me in. However, on this day, as I turned back, I was struck by the view from the Coast Heritage Centre across to Lyme Regis and paused to take photographs, knowing at once it was a scene I would paint next.
The soft golden colours warmed the sea, sky and sands, and I was eager to capture that gentle energy and lingering glow.
